�Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (TOKYO:4502) and Affymax, Inc. (Nasdaq:AFFY) today announced their agreement to suspend co-development of Hematide� to treat chemotherapy-induced anemia and to focus all development efforts for Hematide� on the treatment of chronic kidney disease related anemia. Takeda and Affymax continue to be encouraged by the potential of bringing Hematide, a commodious, once monthly treatment option, to the millions of chronic kidney disease patients suffering from anemia and believe this represents a significant opportunity for the two companies.
Takeda has been conducting Phase I clinical studies of Hematide� for the treatment of chemotherapy-induced anemia in the U.S. and Japan. Irish Medicines Formulary Edition 4 Now Published
�The Irish Medicines Formulary (IMF), Edition 4, has now been published and distributed to registered GPs in fulltime practice in Ireland.
Since it was low published in February 2007, IMF continues to grow to meet the necessarily of Irish healthcare professionals. A major innovation in Edition 4 is the inclusion of Illness Definitions. Every drug in IMF Edition 4 has a licensed indication and each indication now carries a concise medical definition, providing additional information for aesculapian students, pharmacists and nursing professionals.

Lisa Marie Presley is suing newspaper
Singer Lisa Marie Presley is suing the Daily Mail over an article which alleged that she was "piling on the pounds", which forced her to announce her pregnancy.
The 40-year-old singer, who is the daughter of music legend Elvis Presley, claimed that she was deeply upset by the article.
The Mail, published by Associated Newspapers, reported last week that Presley was gaining weight.
Presley's lawyer Simon Smith said: "My client is deeply upset and offended by this article, especially as it was widely published just as she and her family were meant to be celebrating her happy news."
In a blog posting on her MySpace webpage, Presley wrote: "Once they got a glimpse of my expanding physique a few days ago, they have been like a pack of coyotes circling their prey whilst eerily howling with delight."
She also said that she was forced to "show my cards and announce under the gun and under vicious personal attack that I am in fact pregnant".
Presley already has an 18-year-old daughter and a 15-year-old son.
